Indefinite Delivery Contract for Engineering Services

FAI Engineers is very pleased with the fact that we have had a continuing association with SFASU over the years, not only working for Architects on various projects, but also with an indefinite delivery contract (IDC) for engineering services since 1987.

Services provided to SFA as part of this contract include:

  • Assist with project evaluation, feasibility, and scope of various projects;
  • Obtain required documents (drawings, as-builts, outline specifications, etc.);
  • Assist in preparation of bidding forms, conditions of contracts, etc.;
  • Furnish necessary copies of plans, specifications, notice to bidders, and proposal forms required for bidding;
  • Conduct periodic site visits to monitor progress and assure compliance with the construction documents;
  • Prepare and furnish record drawings;
  • Provide financial feasibility, appraisals, rate studies or other special economic studies;
  • Provide master planning surveys, and
  • Prepare measured drawings of existing construction when required for planning additions or renovations.

Project was for connecting two existing chiller plants to allow more effective use of energy efficiency equipment.

Human Sciences North and Forestry Buildings New Chillers
Location: Nacogdoches, Texas

Hall 15 & 18 New Chilled Water Piping

Project was for the replacement of existing chillers with new high efficiency chillers with slight modification to existing chilled water piping to ensure more efficient flow/pumping.

Forestry Building New Boilers

Project was for replacement of existing boilers with new high efficiency boilers including flues, heating water pump with VFD, expansion tank, by-pass feeder, associated required new sections of heating water piping, make-up water piping, gas piping, and electrical power.

Power Plant No. 2 South Loop Piping Replacement
Location: Nacogdoches, Texas

Power Plant No. 2 South Loop Piping Replacement

Project was for the replacement of a deteriorated section of underground piping serving academic building connections to Power Plant No. 2. New piping was partially installed on top of the existing pipe lines that had to remain in service until new piping could be completed. This section of the piping serves seven (7) buildings.

Type of Services: Site investigation, analysis/study of existing conditions, design development, cost estimate, construction documents, bid evaluation, submittal review, and construction administration.

Health and Physical Education Building Indoor Pool Renovation

Health and Physical Education Building Indoor Pool Renovation

This project was for the design and layout of pool filters, piping, valves, pumps, water treatment equipment, pool drains, and water balancing the tank for the renovation of the existing pool. Friberg Associates Inc. worked in conjunction with a selected contractor and the work was done in a very short amount of time between first semester break and the starting of the fall semester.

Contract Delivery Method: The owner issued a change order to an existing on-going contract.

Type of Services: Project analysis, site investigation of existing conditions, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.

Est. Budget Construction Cost: $200,000

Original Construction Contract: $151,950

Final Construction Cost with Change Orders: $154,875

Homer Bryce Stadium Lighting

This project was for replacement of wiring to the existing light fixtures and stadium light poles. Work also included two (2) feeders to stadium light poles and a main circuit breaker for one of two electric switchgear panels.

Construction Cost: Unknown, handled directly by the Owner.

Study to rework the Sesquicentennial monument fountain

Expansion of Power Plant No.2 which serves many buildings on campus. The expansion included new boilers, addition of (2) 2,000 tons of refrigeration, large campus loop pumps, cooling towers and electrical work.

Served as ad hoc member of a committee to select an Energy Services company.

Evaluation of existing HVAC and electrical equipment to allow SFASU to complete their budget request to the state legislature.

Renovation of the air conditioning serving a two room suite of offices in the Administration Building.
